 In  commemoration of 2023 Democracy Day celebration, the Federal Government has declared Monday, June 12, as public holiday. The P ermanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Oluwatoyin Akinlade made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government on Thurday. Akinlade, in a statement, said Nigeria’s democratic journey has, like in many other climes, encountered stormy and smooth sails. “But it’s institutions and most importantly, the Nigerian people have remained steadfast on the tenets of democratic governance,” she asserted. The Permanent Secretary wished all Nigerians a happy celebration.

 A RIVER'S STATE RESIDENT PASTOR HAS BEEN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR KILLING CHOIR MISTRESS. A HIGH Court in Port Harcourt has ordered a pastor, Chidiebere Okoroafor, to be executed by hanging or lethal injection for the murder of three persons. Okoroafor, who is the General Overseer of the Altar of Solution and Healing Assembly based in Oyigbo, Rivers State, was convicted of killing his choir mistress, Orlunma Nwagba, who he allegedly impregnated, and her friend, Chigozie Ezenwa, and her eleven-month-old daughter, Cresabel, on December 11, 2017. The trial judge, S.O. Benson, said the evidence and confessional statements from the pastor showed that he committed the crimes. Justice Benson said the prosecution proved the case of murder against the cleric beyond reasonable doubt and sentenced him to death. According to reports, the women had visited the pastor’s house in Oyigbo for a discussion on the pregnancy when he lured them into a bush and killed them in two different locations. The

The doctors told the parents that they would operate the hands of that girl and that they would give her antistatic. The operation was easy because it seemed like the hands were simply glued together by one a layer of skin and was already only one layer apart.
